It comes so fast…

Where does it go?  The time?

A few days ago, some very dear friends of our arrived here in Israel.  It has been such a huge lift to see some friendly, familiar, knowing faces in our house.  They came to help train the staff here and will be spending our last two weeks in Israel with us!  It has already been great having two fun new roomates!  They leave the country on the same day we do and get back to SFO 15 minutes or so after we do!  Crazy.

It’s hard to believe that in less than two weeks we will be stateside again.  That moment always seemed so far away, and now it’s rushing up with incredible speed.  There is so much that needs to happen here before we leave the country.  Thus we have been terribly busy and haven’t blogged as much as we like.  Our apologies.

Here’s a few happenings: special needs christmas party, inaugural ropes course run, police chases (that’s right), great international fellowship, palestinian birthdays… and much more, which we will fill you in on eventually.

But for now, it has been super refreshing to have Austin and Callan here.  I love learning about the conflict and discussing appropriate and inappropriate responses, but after four months of dealing with a very opinionated and stubborn international aid community, talking about these things with fresh minds and hearts who love Jesus like we do has been…. right.  We’ve learned a lot and have a lot to say on the matter, but we’ve been constantly warned to be wary of what we say while we’re here as apparently this can be monitored and we don’t want to make our leaving the country any more difficult than it already will be (which is another discussion in itself).   BUT be checking the blog after we get back for our processing thoughts and musings when we’ll have more freedom to say we feel needs to be said.

In the meantime, we plan on soaking up the sites with our beloved friends.  And we’re gearing up for Christmas in Bethlehem… I still have a hard time grasping that… I can’t wait.

We love all of you reading and praying for us… thank you for actively participating in our lives.  We are truly rich (as cheesy as that sounds, it’s how we feel).
